Stool: Cherry Wood
A lovely stool made with a mix of traditional and modern hand tools. The legs have been cleft (cleaving is basically a controlled split) from a curved log of ash then, shaved and sanded to a smooth finish. The Ash legs have been carefully joined through the cherry seat with a 1 inch tenon and an Oak wedge driven in to create a solid join.
This style of stool also makes a great bedside table.
Materials - Cherry, Ash, Oak wedges, sealed with Osmo coat.
Source - The Cherry wood top was bought at a reclamation yard in Machynlleth, the ash legs from a forest near the same town.
