Felted soap was historically used on estates in France and England to differentiate household soap from the higher quality, luxury bars meant for personal use.

Colourful, soft, ethically sourced* Merino wool is loosely wrapped around the naked soap, immersed in hot water and agitated using surface texture to allow the fibres to knit together. This creates a soft yet gently exfoliating wash pad that shrinks along with the soap and dries very well between uses, particularly if left outside of the shower stall.  Wool has natural anti-fungal and antibacterial properties and so will stay fresh and hygienic for the duration of it's life.  Every bit of the soap is used and lasts a very long time.
Felted soap is particularly useful for those who suffer from arthritis as it is easier to hold when bathing.

All soaps are handmade the traditional way by combining various oils and butters with sodium hydroxide. These felted soaps are all made using the Hot Process method which allows their fragrances to hold much better and longer than other soaps as it is unaffected by the saponification process.  After "the cook" only natural soap, fragrance, reserved glycerine and oils remain. Glycerine is frequently extracted from mass produced soap and sold for extra profit for use in other cosmetics and beauty products, to be replaced by potentially drying chemicals which can irritate the skin.

*Our Merino wool comes from South America and South Africa, where the controversial practise of mulesing (removing thin layers of skin in order to control flystrike) does not occur.

All soaps are created without the use of palm oil.
