Glass Sun Catcher - Tintagel Maze
Beautiful handmade glass sun catcher in a range of colours with gold etched design.
This piece is based on the pair of labyrinths found at Rocky Valley, Tintagel, Cornwall.
Discovered in 1948 here is much speculation as to their origin : some say they date back from the Bronze age, while others say they were carved in the 18th Century by a bored mill worker.
Whatever the truth, labyrinths and mazes are found all over the world and often seen as a symbol of fertility or life.
The image has been etched onto glass, then coloured, before being set in a lead came surround and polished.
